LANDIKOTAL: A score of elders hailed from Mazreena area of Landikotal tehsil Monday threatened of polio boycott and will also block the Pak-Afghan highway if they were
not resumed electricity that cutt off several weeks creating drinking water shortage in Landikotal.
Talking to a new conference, residents of Mazreena of Landikotal, Usman Ghani Afridi, Haji Raza, Jan Alam, Bakhtawar and Naoshaad Afridi regretted the extreme level of power cuts by the Landikotal grid station. They
said due to weeks long suspension of the power supply all the tubewella had been stopped that create drinking water shortage in the area.
They said Mazreena's dwellers were facing severe water shortage because of power outage as all water pumps were being operated with electricity.
They stressed that Landikotal grid station officials should cut double source of connections in the area to reduce power outage and to supply power equally to every home in Landikotal.
The elders also demanded from the government to provide them drinking water. They threatened that they would anmounce boycott from polio drops if their demands
were not fulfilled in two days and will block the road.
