Cholera epidemic outbreaks in Loey Shalman

KHYBER AGENCY: Cholera epidemic broke out in Loey Shalman area of  Landikotal tehsil in Khyber Agency,sources said on Friday.

The sources said that due to contaminated drinking water dozens of residetns in Ghundakhel village in Loey Shalman had been infected with cholera disease.
 
Kalim Shalmani, a local resident, told The News that at least 14 persons,most of them were children, had been shifted to Agency Headquarters hospital in Landikotal. he said hot season and contaminated drinking water caused  said cholera epidemic in the area. 

The cholera infected persons have been admitted in the Landikotal hospital, hospital sources said.
Agency Surgeon, doctor Niaz, when contacted said that as they were informed about the cholera outbreak they dispatched two mobile health teams to help save precious lives in the affected areas of Loey Shalman.

He said health staff would also set up a free medical camp in Loey-Shalman to provide free medicines and health tips to the residents.
