Plantation season kicks off in Fata





LANDIKOTAL:  Opening the 2015 plantation season, the Fata director Forest Sher Nawaz Khan on Saturday said that they would plant 47 million different trees in different areas of Fat.
 
A formal ceremony was held at Fata Cadet Collage at Warsak Peshawar which was attended by a number of tribal people, students and tribal reporters. Sher Nawaz Khan kicked off the Fata plantation season with the plantation of a Zaytoon plant at the compound of the collage.
 He told reporters that this year they would plant 47 million of trees in different areas of Fata including Khyber Agency. He urged the tribesmen for their cooperation said that the plantation campaign be successful when tribesmen look after the plants and let them grow.
Sher Khan said they would plant 4.5 million trees in Landikotal, 6.5 million in Bazaar Zakhakhel,6.5 million in Jamrud while they would plant thousands of trees in Bara areas of Khyber Agency.
Principal of Fata Cadent Collage, Colonel (R) Abdul Hannan was also present on the occasion and planted trees. He said that it was the moral and national obligation of the Pakistani citizens to plant at least one tree at every plantation season. He said that fresh and clean environment was the need of the day which was possible when we plant more trees around residencies. Students of Fata Cadent Collage also planted 200 trees at the compound of Fata Cadet collage Warsak road
