Lakki resident among two other killed in Khyber

LANDIKOTAL: Three transporters, two from Landikotal and one from Lakki Marwat, were killed in two different attacks carried out on oil tanker and on a taxi car in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency, official and local sources said on Tuesday.
The first incident happened on Monday night when unidentified gunmen attacked a taxi car near Jamrud bazaar’s Bypass Road in Khyber Agency, Khasadar sources said.  A taxi car, bearing registration number (6815-B), was carrying four passengers from Torkham border to Peshawar when it came under attack in Jamrud subdivision around 7:50pm.  Driver of the car, identified as Abdul Wahid, sustained bullet injuries in the attack and was shifted to hospital in Peshawar where he succumbed to his injuries.Abdul Wahid was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Landikotal on Tuesday amid tears and anxiety could be seen on the faces of his family members. Family members of the ill-fated taxi driver appealed the government and Khyber Agency political agent to investigate the incident and compensation for his widow and children he left behind.
Within the few hours of the first incident, unidentified gunmen carried out a similar kind of attack in the same locality of Jamrud tehsil in Khyber Agency, sources said. The gunmen attacked an empty oil tanker (630-TLK) as it reached to near Jamrud bazaar’s Bypass Road onTuesday morning. Two transporters, identified as Israr Khan son of Rustam Khan, resident of Sultankhel Landikotal and Salim Khan son of Ikram Khan, resident of Lakki Marwat were killed in the attack. The oil tanker was on way back to Pakistan from Afghanistan unloading oil in Afghanistan. The bodies of the deceased truckers were later shifted to Jamrud hospital wherefrom, the sources said, dispatched to their respective areas for burial
