Orphans get free school kits in Landikotal

KHYBER AGNCY:  Assistant Political Agent (APA), Muhammad Tayyab Abdullah, has said that they will provide assistance to the Al-khidmat Foundation for helping poor people and urged that utilize their resources to insure quality of education in all schools in Landikotal.

APA Muhammad Tayab Abdullah was addressing to a gathering of the orphan students, teachers, local elders and Al-khidmat Foundation workers held here in Landikotal Jirga hall on Wednesday.
The official praised Al-Khidmat efforts said that the foundation was truly helping poor people including orphan children and widows all over in Pakistan. He urged rich people and philanthropists to come forward and join hands with Al-khidmat to help poor children so that they could get education. Tayyab announced Rs 0.1 million aid for Al-Khidmat Foundation and vowed that he would appeal high-ups’ for more grants to help Al-khidmat Foundation.
 Fata Al-Khidmat Foundation president, Awal Gul Afridi on the behalf of Al-khidmat foundation distributed books and other stationary of different grades were distributed among orphan students. Afridi said that Al-khidmat was providing services in education, health, provision of potable water and other social sectors in the area. Quoting the UNICEF figures, Afridi said 4.2 million children in Pakistan were orphans which he said increasing day by day due to many unfortunate deaths of parents. He said the alarming situation of rise in orphans needs to be addressed forthwith to initiate effective plans to bring them up as useful citizen of Pakistan. He said Al-khidmat facilitating 108 students in Khyber Agency in which 31 orphan students were from tehsil Landikotal.
JI senior Fata leaders Muqtader Shah Afridi, Banaris Shinwari, Abdur-Rauf and Ikhtayar Badshah also spoke on the occasion.
