Arms seized at Torkham border




LANDIKOTAL: The Khasadar force personnel have foiled a bid to smuggle arms and ammunition into Afghanistan and arrested an Afghan national, official sources said on Wednesday.
The sources said that one, Muhammad Amin, resident of Paghman province in Afghanistan, was stopped at Torkham border and thoroughly searched his belongings. A Khasadar official said that two pistols, 55 bullets’ rounds and six magazines were recovered from his possession. The arrested Afghan national was sent to Landikotal lockup for further investigation.
It may be added here that two days ago another Afghan national identified as Baryalai had been arrested in the same case at Torkham border who but released within few hours of his arrest after he paid a handsome amount to the Torkham officials, sources confirmed.
