Teachers rejected shifting of AEO office from Jamrud



KHYBER AGENCY: All Khyber Agency teachers’ associations have threatened that if the Agency Education Office was shifted from Jamrud to Peshawar they would start a campaign against the corrupt officials and would boycott from their duties.
Scores of teachers and class-IV employees from Khyber Agency were present in the meeting held in Jamrud higher secondary school on Friday. Teachers said it would be injustice with them if the office was shifted from Jamrud. They threatened that they would stage protest at the front of AEO Jamrud office if the decision was not rolled back.
Speaking to the meeting, All Khyber Agency Associations President, Nasir Shah, alleged the officials that they were intentionally trying to create problems for those teachers and other education department employees who were easily come to AEO Jamrud office from the Landikotal, Shalman, Mulagori, Tirah valley and other remote areas. He said that it would create long distance problem and would waste of time and money for them if the office was shifted to Peshawar. He said that AEO office was not the lone government offices in Jamrud tehsil but several other federal and provincial offices were smoothly running in the Agency. Nasir Shah accused officials in AEO office said that they were busy in making black money and were not serious to resolve their problems.
The meeting passed a resolution demanding from the Governor KP and Education ministry to resolve the seniority and up gradation issue coming since long with the government. They meeting also discussed problems being faced when they perform duties in the far-flung areas of Tirah valley, Loy and Kam Shalmans in Landikotal. Officials of the AEO Khyber Agency have decided to shift the office located in Jamrud bazaar to somewhere in Peshawar due to load shading and security problems.
When this correspondent tried to contact the AEO officials for their versions failed as their cell phones were switched off.
