JI protest against load shading, prices hikes

LANDIKOTAL: Jamaat-i-Islami Khyber Agency chapter staged a protest demonstration in Landikotal bazaar against the prolonging load shading and price hikes in the month of Ramadan.
Scores of JI workers and leaders along with local tribesmen protested in the main Landikotal bazaar by closing the Landikotal-Torkham road for an hour. They marched from hospital chowk to Bacha Khan Chowk where they blocked the road for all kinds of traffic.

JI leaders chanted slogans against the political administration and Landikotal grid station officials for their aloofness in matters of the local people. 
JI Landikotal leaders, Banaris Shinwari, Akhtar Ali, Zarnoor Afridi and others spoke on the occasion and said that political administration officials must use their influence to restore electricity during the time of Aftaar and Sehri. Banasir said that 23 hours load shading was facing by the people in such hot and 15 hours long fasting which he said is injustice with them. Zarnoor said that there was no check on the shopkeepers were selling commodities on their own prices but price control committee exist only in the officials' documents. They threatened if the officials failed to provide electricity in the times of 
Aftaar and Sehri and prices were not controlled they would block Pak-Afghan highway for Nato supplies. 

They also came harsh on the restoration of Nato supplies said that the government officials were busy in making money by allowing Nato containers and oil tankers while putting lives of the innocents citizens who usually coming under attach when Nato containers and oil tankers were being targeted. They alleged that government must not allow Nato supplies just for few dollars as it would bring a serious gulf between the government and the people.
