8 suspects arrested in search operation in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: The security forces conducted search and clearance operations in Landikotal and Torkham bazaars and arrested eight persons on the basis of suspicion, official and local sources said on Saturday.
The sources said that several contingents of the Frontier Crops (FC), Levies and Khasadars’ forces conducted search operations in the residential areas and market shops in Landikotal and Torkham bazaars. They arrested eight persons including Afghan nationals and sent them to Landikotal army garrison for investigation, however, names and identities of the arrested persons were not disclosed due to security reasons, the sources said. Landikotal and Torkham bazaars, Torkham Gate and the entire links road connecting Landikotal with Peshawar were remained closed for around an hour during the search operations, an official on the condition of anonymity told The News on phone.
It may be added here that security forces claimed to have arrested several militants and outlaws in the last few months raids and search operations who were targeting government and civilian installations.
