PA Khyber opens polio campaign in Khyber

LANDIKOTAL: The Khyber Agency political agent, Mutahir Zeb, inaugurated three days anti-polio campaign in by visiting Jamrud where he administered polio drops.

Mutahir Zeb, Saturday visited several spots in Jamrud villages where he examined the polio teams deployed at village and town levels.
Flanked by assistant political agent Jamrud, Muhammad Jamil, political tehsildar Shakeel Khan and agency surgeon Dr Azam Wazir, the Mutahir Zeb issued strict orders to the Khyber agency administration that put behind the bars if anyone refuses to administer polio drops to their children.

 “No laziness and ignorance of any government employee would be tolerated if they not perform their duty in the three days campaign”, Mutahir Zeb warned. While talking to reporters Mutahir Zeb and agency surgeon, Dr Azam Wazir said that during the three days anti-polio campaign around 1,50000 children would vaccinated in Khyber agency. Mutahir Zeb said that on the strict directives from the governor KPK, Barrister Masood Kausar, the construction and installation work has been expedited at the Jamrud grid station, adding and it was on the final phase, he said. Responding to a question he assured the local journalists that Landikotal and Jamrud press clubs would be soon built. He said that the innocent people arrested during the search operation on the basis of suspicion would be released soon. He urged the local people, media-men and civil society to cooperate the health teams while coming to them in door-to-door campaign. 

 Dr Azam Wazir said that if the polio virus was not completely washed out would further double burden on the trickling economy of Pakistan.  He said that they have also sent their health teams to the Jalozai camp where hundreds of children from Bara tehsil would be administered.
