Teachers observe boycott from classes in State schools

LANDIKOTAL: On the call of All Fata Teachers Association (ATA) Teachers on Monday observed boycott from taking classes in all the government-run schools in Khyber Agency.

Taking to reporters, Khyber Agency chapter teachers Association president Nasir Shah Afridi and general secretary Attiq Afridi said boycott from classes was decided in an important meeting held in Peshawar. He said it was unjust with the Fata teachers that their scale up gradation cases was coming since last three years. He said that teachers and health staff had been given the up gradation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on June 2012. He said they knocked doors of federal and provincial governments but to no avail.

Nasir Shah said if their demands were not fulfilled they would start their set-in at the front parliament house from next month.He said in the second phase they would start agitation against the double standard of the government and would shut down all the state-owned schools in Fata.

It may be added here that on the assurance of SAFRAN minister Abdul Qadir Baloch and education minister Baliur Reliur Rehman Fata teachers had ended their nine-day set-in they organized at the National press club last years
