Officials get awards on their best performance

LANDIKOTAL: Torkham Tehsildar,political Muharrer and Khasadars officials were awarded certificates and cash prizes on account of foiling an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of hashish from Afghanistan some two months ago.

A ceremony in this connection was arranged at Landikotal administration office which was attended by a large number local residents,officials and civil society members.

Assistant political agent of Landikotal Muhammad Nasir Khan was the chief guest who distributed cash prizes and certificates among political tehsildar Torkham, Shamsul Islam, political Muharrer Ali Raza Mohmand,Naib Subedar Miram Jan Shinwari and Shakil Afridi.

APA Nasir Khan praised that the officials had performed an outstanding job which showed their dedication and sincerity. He high ups had praised such actions by the border authorities and decided to award them honorary certificates and cash prizes. He very professionally the aforesaid officials had foiled an attempt to smuggle 500 Kilograms of Hashish being smuggled from Afghanistan on 16 December last year. He said it was a huge cap of narcotics try to smuggle at bulk during the last few years. He said the culprits along with the truck had been arrested and still under investigation.

Meanwhile, A corolla car was stopped near Charwazgai area of Landikotal and recovered 17 kilograms of hashish from its hidden cavities.
Political Tehsildar Landikotal,Khalid Khan told reporters that a car(LWA-2350) and two persons identified as Amjad and Azran,residents of Kokikhel Jamrud were arrested and sent them to Landikotal lock up.
