FATA:A Christian girl sought financial help for higher education |
KHYBER AGENCY(FATA): A Christian girl, who was declared position holder in her school, appealed from the government and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to finance her further education so that she could become the first ever Christian female doctor in her community living in Khyber Agency.
Sarah Masih, 18,
resident of Landikotal, told this scribe that she got 720 marks in FSc,
pre-medical group.She said that she was placed at top position in the
government higher secondary school in Landikotal. She said her parents were jobless
and poor to afford her further education. Sarah in a faint voice said her teachers in her
school were not regularly performing their duties but she work hard and studied
at home most of the time. She said that she was the one in her family who
struggle to change the life of her family. Sarah said despite the deteriorate
law and order situation and 20-hour long load shedding in Landikotal could not
beat her enthusiasm and dedication and achieved her target. She said it would
be a great time when she get admission in a medical college and become a
doctor.
Sarah said she don not
want to live a miserable life her parents lived for the past 60 years. The poor Christian girl said that she would
work hard ahead to become a doctor and serve the community as first Christian
doctor in Landikotal.
Yaqoob Masih, 65,
father of Sarah said he worked as Class-IV employee for thirty years now retired.
He said poverty and low income payment in private jobs count not compete with
the expenses of his family. Yaqoob said he was not able to pay further for her
daughter’s higher studies.
Yaqoob was proud to be
the father of her talented daughter said that his daughter struggled a lot and
studied day and night as she achieved top position in her school.
Sarah Masih and her
father appealed from the Governor Khyber Pakhtukhwa, political Agent of Khyber
Agency and NGOs to support her financially
so that she could continue her further education.
