Tourists face problems in Khanspur Ayubia

Khanspur residents demand repair of street lights,water supplylines

AYUBIA: Residents and visitors in Khanspur have threatened that if the street lights and water supplylines were not repaired in three days they would go on strike.

A meeting was held on Wednesday in Khanspur bazaar which was attended by dozens of tourists and Khanspur bazaar committee members.
Alam Khan alias Balim Shinwari headed the meeting said that he and dozens others had shifted their families from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other hot areas of Pakistan to enjoy pleasant weather and have cool fastings in KhanspurHe said million of rupees revenue was being generating from Ayubia but government was not spending money to resolve basic problems of the local people. Shinwari said despite the other problems residents were facing difficulties of drinking water and street lights in Khanspur bazaar.
Alam Khan said all the street lights on school road in Khanspur were broken years before but did not repaired so far.He said it was difficult for residents to go for traveeh.

The residents complained that they were buying mineral water from bazaar while the water pipelines were stopped providing drinking water to the people living in Khanspur.

Janzada said stray dogs wandering in bazaar but the concern authorities didn't take step to kill them. He said their children have been confined in homes due to fear of stray dogs.

Shafi Malik,a hotel owner in Khanspur bazaar,said that he was happy with his hotel business last year but this year the numbers of visitors and their families reluctant to come to Ayubia due to poor facilities. He said at least ten to twenty thousands tourists used to come during the summer season every year and stay for months long but this year visitors not willing to come here due to scarcity of basic facilities.
The angry residents threatened that if the street lights and pipelines of clean drinking water were repaired in three days they would protest demonstration against the local authorities and will block Ayubia -Murree road for all traffic.
The residents also observed token strike for some time in Khanspur bazaar and dispersed peacefully. When tried to include version of the local officials in Khanspur and Ayubia but non of the official responded to phone calls.
