LANDIKOTAL: At least 400 students of the Government Degree Collage (GDC)staged protest demonstration on Friday,asking the authorities to address their
long awaited problems.
The
students were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans
demanding the concern quarters to resolve their genuine problems.
The students walked peacefully from the collage to Government high
school where students' leaders addressed.
The
students,holding placed and banners,chanted slogans in the favor of their demands.They demanded second shift classes,drinking water,opening of hostel for
students coming from far-flung areas and uninterrupted electricity to
the computer science students.
They said that a large number of poor students missed to get admission as limited seats in the collage.
to
provide an opportunity to those students who were deprived of admission
in morning shift.They said the collage hostels were also closed from a
long time which create problems for students of far flung areas. They
alleged that PA Khyber was earning million of rupees from Landikotal
while not spend a single penny on the best welfare of the area students.
The
students threatened if their genuine demands were not fulfilled soon
they would be compelled to launch a series of protests for their rights.
Students also demanded of the member of national assembly Al-Haj Shahji
Gul Afridi and Political Agent Khyber Agency,Shahab Ali shah to fulfill
their promise to start second shift classes in the collage.
