LANDIKOTAL:Two Daesh fighters were killed and many others injured when they attacked on Zakhakhel amn Lashkar centre in Darband Kandao Kaper Darra area in Landikotal tehsil in Khyber Agncy,local sources said on Sunday.
The sources said that in the wee hours of Saturday night dozens of ISIS fighters attacked on the Zakhakhel peace Laahkar's centre local known as commander Muslim Markaz.
"Several Daesh fighter came from Afghanistan's side of the border attacked the peace committee centre manned by around by forty peace committee volunteers", said by an official on the condition of anonymity.He said the fighting was continued for several hours which the peace committee repulsed.
The sources said both sides used used light and automatic weapons against each other.
According to peace committee sources two Daesh fighters were killed in the gun battle and several others sustained wounds.They said Daesh left two dead bodies of their fighters and fled back to Afghanistan. They added that ISIS fighters wanted to take control on the Zakhakhel peace committee centre known as Muslim centre,situated on the border with Afghanistan.
Two peace committee members identified as Turab Khan Afridi and Kuwait Wali Afridi were also injured in the ISIS attack. The injured persons were shifted to nearby health facility,the sources said.
After the several hours of besiege Zakhakhel peace committee controlled the whole area and deployed more fighters in the surrounding,the sources added.
