LANDIKOTAL: The local administration and security forces officials claimed to have arrested six suspected militants and seized a huge quantity of arms,suicide jackets and explosives during different raids in Landikotal subdivision of Khyber agency, official sources said on Thursday.
Taking action on a tip off the security forces raided several suspected places in Landikotal and recovered suicide jackets, explosives materials, wireless and communication systems, rocket launchers,gas cylinders,Kalashinkoves, Cookers-bombs and a car, the sources said. The security forces arrested six alleged militants and sent them to Landikotal army garrison for interrogation, sources said. Those arrested were identified as Zahir, senior teacher in government high school Landikotal No,1, Momeen, Madat Khan, Imtiaz Akbar and Abdul Haseeb, all from Landikotal.
An official of the local administration on the condition of anonymity told this scribe that the explosives materials and arms would be used in terrorism bids to speared uncertainty and fear in Landikotal.
Later the security forces defused two time bombs near government High school. The bombs were recovered during the raids in Landikotal, the sources said.
