LANDIKOTAL:Marking history by becoming the last political agent of Khyber Agency and the first ever Deputy Commissioner of district Khyber Islam Zeb on Sarurday signed the official order and took charge as the first Deputy Commissioner of district Khyber.
A brief ceremony was arranged at Khyber House Peshawar where a number of Khyber House officials and civil servants were present.
Former political agent Islam Zeb took charge as Deputy Commissioner of district of Khyber amid congratulations from the participants followed by clapping.
Meanwhile, DC Islam Zeb also issued a writting notification directed all the three subdivisions Landikotal,Jamrud and Bara of district Khyber that follow the new set up with letter and spirit.
Deputy commissioner Islam Zeb also issued his first directives as deputy commissioner and abolished all agency taxes. He directed the political Muharers posted at various check posts in district Khyber to report Khyber House with immediate effects.
An official of Khyber House on the condition of anonymity told The News that calling the political Muharers back to Khyber House would create hazard for the whole system. He said they have no posts to deploy the political muharrers where they would be adjusted to perform duty.
Meanwhile,Fata grand alliance threatened to start agitation against the Fata merger soon after eidul fitr.In a press statement issued here said that Fata grand alliance was totaly rejecting the Fata merger. It is said that none of the tribal resident was asked whether he or she want merger with Khyber Pakhunkhwa or a separate province for them. They threatened to launch a countrywide protests and sit-ins to reject the merger and demand a separate province for tribal people.
