LANDIKOTAL:
Two paramilitary personnel and eight militants were killed and four
other frontier Crops men wounded in a gun fight near Hamza Baba shrine
in Landikotal tehsil of Khyber Agency,local sources said on Saturday.
The
sources said that several militants riding motorcycles ambushed a
security forces vehicle at 6:40 pm near Hamza Baba shrine in Charwazgai
area.The security forces also retaliated with automatic weapons.An eye
witness who was passing near by the incident place told The News that
few persons were ridding motorcycles which they opened indiscriminate
firing on a FC vehicle. The gun fire between the security forces and
militants was continued for several minutes,the sources said. As a
results,two security personnel identified as Sepoy Ihsan and Sepoy Zuber
died on the spot while four others sustained injuries.According to
security forces sources eight of the militants including their commander
were also killed by the security forces.As the incident occurred the
security forces contingents rushed to the site and cordoned off the whole
area.The retrieved the bodies and injured security personnel from the
van and shifted to Combined Military Hospital(.MH) in Landikotal.
