Two peace body members killed in Tirah blasts

KHYBER AGENCY: Two Zakhakhel peace body members were killed and another injured in two separate blasts took place at boundary between Landikotal and Bara tehsil in Nari Baba area of Tirah valley,local sources said on Monday.

First blast occurred around 10:40am when few Zakhakhel peace body members,locally known as Tauheedul Islam(TI) volunteers entered a bunker vacated by LI supporters in Narai Baba area of Tirah valley.Shafiullah Afridi,resident of Zakhakhel was killed on the spot while his other accomplice Ibrahim Afridi sustained injuries.

Meanwhile,another blast of same nature took place in Narai Baba locality when TI volunteers stromed over a LI vacated possession.

Sources said a bomb,which was planted at the entrance of the empty bunker,went off when one of  TI gunmen stepped on a planted land mine just few yards out of the bunker.Maroof Afridi son of Badaam Afridi,resident of Zakhakhel died on the spot.

As the blasts occurred dozens of other TI volunteers and supporters rushed to the sites and shifted the injured persons to a nearby private clinic,sources said.

It May be added here that more than hundred persons were killed and many other injured bomb blasts and other militancy related incidents in Khyber Agency during the last one month.
